Critique of new Six Day War documentary
From a skeptical perspective, a negative and extremely detailed critique of an upcoming doc about the Six Day War in Mosaic, a site I just saw for the first time: “Every Israeli who hopes to earn fame by making documentaries knows there is a persistent demand for films exposing Israel’s misdeeds, especially if they are attested by Israelis themselves. And nothing is so marketable as a story exposing crimes covered up by the state itself. The formula is irresistible to film-festival directors, high-brow European television channels, and the New York Times.” The film, Censored Voices, is playing at the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival and may have a theatrical release in the US.
